My girlfriend convinced me to start watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, after watching the movie which was a bit of a disappointment. Once she told me that the cartoon was much better I gave it a go. SHE WAS RIGHT! Its amazing! I really enjoyed every episode. My co-worker/friend started watching it too and with so much Avatar TLAB on the brain, I had to give the time to do a drawing. I am thinking I will print this out and give it as a Christmas Present to him.
Its been a long LONG time since I did cell shading. I'd love to hear comments! Thanks
I also wanted to thank as I used their work heavily in my character studies
Nice, nice~ I like i, but the stomaches wouldn't be that "flat" I guess you could say. Not sure how to explain it really... You have an arch (to indicate the ribcage I'm guessing) under the breasts that wouldn't be there unless they were directly holding it in. With the one on the end (forget her name, she's in the red bathing suit) would be ok but with Touf (however you spell it xD fail) her shoulders would be coming almost straight out. When a girl holds her tummy in, her spine straights and the ribcage lifts which makes her look almost stiff. Now, with Katara's breasts... they just look kinda funky and skinny. he fold's of her bathing suit would be much closer to Touf's. My last tip is this; The anatomy to each specific character seems a bit off only because it's that person. An example would be Ichigo from bleach. Ichigo has a long face; because of Kubo's art style. If I drew him with the shape of a fave similar to Masachi's (The guy who draws Naruto), it wouldn't be that the antomy is off, but more of the proportions of the origional character have been lost... If that makes any sense. IN BETTER NEWS WHERE THIS PICTURE IS AWESOME, the legs and hands on this are really good! O_O Im not a fan of cell shading but dang: Good job!!
